Abigayle Claflin is a sophomore Actuarial Science major from Crossville, Tennessee. She attends St. John’s University where she is heavily involved in many activities on campus such as Gamma Iota Sigma, the national insurance fraternity, and the Student Ambassador program. Her favorite program, however, is Alpha Psi Omega, the national theatre honors society, and the performing arts group at St. John’s known as The Chappell Players, which work in joint to both act in and produce all of the theatre productions on campus. She will be interning at Allianz Risk Transfer this summer. She is very excited to take full advantage of the wonderful opportunities Marianne has provided and continues to provide through the Lockton Risk Leadership Development Group and cannot wait to continue growing her network as well as help out her community through the Youth at Risk Benefit Concert hosted in April.
Brittany Sakson is a junior majoring in Actuarial Science. Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Brittany loves being a part of New York City. At St. John’s, she is currently Secretary of Gamma Iota Sigma, the National Business Fraternity for Risk Management and Actuarial Science majors, President of the Actuarial Club, Co-Chair of the Elections Committee of Student Government Inc, a Student Ambassador, and Discover New York Peer Leader. She is also a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Brittany spent this past summer interning in the Global Corporate Department at Zurich North America where she verified that she belonged in the insurance industry. This upcoming summer she will be an Actuarial intern at Gen Re in their Property Division. This is her third semester involved in this program, and she is excited to see how much more it will grow this year and for years to come.
Laura Dease is a sophomore Actuarial Science major with a minor in Mathematics at St. John’s University. She lives in Poughkeepsie, NY and is the President of Saint Vincent de Paul Society, an international service organization, a member of the Catholic Scholars Program, a Student Ambassador, and the Co-Chair of the Research and Development Committee of Student Government Inc. Laura is also a member of the Actuarial Club where she helps lead the study groups, Gamma Iota Sigma, Catholic Student Community, the Vincentian Initiative to Advance Leadership, and Students for Global Justice. She will be interning at Allianz Risk Transfer this summer.
Linda Liu is a sophomore at St. John’s University and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Risk Management and Insurance. Born and raised in Lake Como, Italy, Linda is finally living her dream of a life in the United States and especially in New York City. In her free time, Linda is involved in Gamma Iota Sigma as a member of the Associate Board, the Actuarial Science Club and the Finance and Economics Club, she plays the piano and loves running, as she was a former member of the Italian National Orienteering Team. Linda also enjoys traveling and discovering different places and cultures within New York but also around the world.
